Frankly, my family and friends would be highly amused that anyone made the insinuation I might fit into the following stereotype. After enjoying a great laugh, those who know me best would react by saying "it's obvious the writer really doesn't know you at all":

Your words: "with respect to the Republican side, I think religion gets in the way of politics thus causing an uninformed Republican political viewpoint due to the difficulties of getting past the religious hurdle."

You're correct that 'at one time' Dems were considered the party of the working man -- those days are long gone. Today Dems represent an extremely far-left agenda that strives to destroy the American democratic-Republic, while at the same time today's Republicans fight to preserve the land their ancestors created.

Today's Democrat Party would make FDR, Truman and Kennedy recoil in disbelief. Those former presidents were truly "the loyal opposition," but todays Democrats (culminating with their most radical presidential nominee, Barack Obama) can indeed be considered "the enemy within" - they are threatening American freedoms as they trash individual rights in their quest to elect a man who has formed many alliances with virulent anti-Americans.

Your words: >I think Democrats have long been the party of the working man--informed, or not--intellectuals--informed, or not--and people from a variety of ethnic backgrounds--informed, or not--who know the meaning of struggle.<
