I think being a democratic socialist is a nice change from what seems dangerously close to national socialist viewpoint. I don't think anyone should ever have to hear about tax and spend liberals again. Is the latest round of "Borrow and bailout" conservatives supposed to be better?

We, as a people and a country, could have bought a first class health care system for the money we just signed on for being spent on bailouts. Nobody is better off other than a few good-old-boys and their friends who took the shareholders for a ride. I haven't heard any statement to the effect that people whose pensions or annuities are underwritten by AIG will be paid in full.

At least people I know would benefit from a universal health care plan. Nearly everyone I work with has a relative that has gone down slowly and taken their family and a lot of life savings with them.

BTW, when will Cheney be talking about what he said to Enron that other time more than a trillion dollars went missing. Oh right, executive privilege.
