It's very difficult to say right now. It's not entirely impossible for them to miss the number and still go up due to positive press releases. For me the big number I'm going to be looking at will be revenue growth percentage from last quarter, yhoo was 28% and xcit was 50%. I would be satisfied with anything in that range and very happing with anything over 50%. Although I wouldn't be too terribly discouraged if in came in slightly lower, it seems they are headed in the right direction to greatly increase revenues in this and next quarter. It's kinda hard to make any real solid decisions based on one quarter increase though. I would think the timing of certain deals could make a big difference. Xcite has recently booked 80M in deals. How much of that (if any) was realized on last quarter. I don't know the details of how immediate any revenues are from any deals made. I'm hoping that if seek does come in below estimates in either earnings or revenue that they put some info in the release as to how this quarter is looking based on the deals they have made. It has been commented on this thread that the deals are for content providers only, I only had time to glance over the press releases but I'm sure there was at least one deal with someone that's selling something and I'm sure this will generate some revenue.

One thing I'm kinda curious about though. It seems to me that an effort is being made to get these press releases out before the earnings announcement. Why?
My gut feeling (which I hate to admit) is that the report is going to be bad and they're trying to generate some positve pr hoping that the stock price won't dump too bad. Perhaps I just worry too much.

I think it would take a lot better than -.16 to do anything positive but there are so many other factors involved it's really hard to say.
Had you asked me the same question a week or so ago I would have said it would drop pretty bad if they only beat estimates by .02.

I wonder if there are any more press releases to come out this week. Perhaps these first few are just a lead in to the real news.
