remember that earnings in the last quarter were very heavily weighted to the end of the last quarter... which was a big part of the reason for the jump THEN... Intel is increasing their capital spending is fab equipment in 98... how else will they continue to press for cost savings without further injuring margins... 12 inch wafers, etc... as will the other major players...
