That's probably true in most instances.

But it is also true that most will probably be wiped out if
a 'serious injury, illness' requiring hospitalization and
extended care.

Catastrophic insurance should be needed.

Same goes for car insurance. Most seldom/never used it, but
the 'SYSTEM' is designed so that we cannot afford not to have
it.

It is a very high-maintainance society. That's the reason
they offshore the low-pay hi-tech jobs, or any jobs they can.
