Obama is 70+ year old, same old same old liberal socialist policies wrapped up in a new package, pretending to be something different.
If, as you say, independents are placing hope on Obama due to his "ability to communicate and unite", that's only because such people are incapable of anything but superficial analysis and/or because the MSM has failed to do its job.
The country was subjected to the same liberal Democrat policies Obama espouses under the New Deal and in the Great Society, and more recently in the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac debacle for which the liberal Dems bear a lion's share of responsibility.
Socialism has basically failed where it's been tried.
European countries have lost their edge because of socialist policies. Nationwide strikes constantly being called. Entitlement mentality about lengthy vacations. High tax rates. Lessened incentives to succeed. Restrictions on free speech.
Obama ran for state senate on a socialist party ticket. During this campaign, he gaffed and admitted that he is for redistribution of wealth, so he killed the messenger, Joe the Plumber.
Can you even begin to justify what happened to that man as a result of the tactics of Barack Obama?
The Obama campaign has behaved like jack booted thugs in its efforts to silence opposing voices. BO himself told supporters to "get in the face" of the opposition, via email he instructed minions to clog phone lines to talk shows to silence opponents. His lawyers have written threatening letters to keep ads from airing just because he disliked the content.
These tactics bear no resemblance to the "peace and hope" articulated by drugged out hippies. They sure don't sound like the tactics of a "uniter" either.
So, I do not believe Obama is a unifier. He may talk the talk to some who are willing to suspend disbelief, as though they were reading some novel, but he sure doesn't walk the walk and never has.
Had the MSM actually vetted Obama, instead of actively shielding him from scrutiny, he would never have received his party's nomination, let alone be in contention for the Presidency at this time. BO found many willing accomplices in the persons of radical leftists and media personalities who dream of being part of something historic.
I view anyone deemed "untouchable" by the media with suspicion. What are they hiding?
Just ask yourself why no one from his past has stood up for Obama? All his endorsers are recent endorsers or people who did not know him back in the day. The only people who associated with Obama and who could speak for him are undesirable, from Frank Davis to Bill Ayers, from Wright to Odinga to ACORN personnel. Why did BO surround himself with such people if he did not subscribe to their beliefs?
Basically, I do not believe Obama shares the goals of the "right." He is about empowerment of government (and himself by extension) and subjugating the population by income redistribution and creating even more dependence on government.
BO has not been forthright about his true beliefs during this campaign, which is why he overreacted so much to the Freudian slip from his Joe the Plumber encounter. |
