If Obama recreates the FDR New Deal for our generation, would that be a bad thing? It might be just what the doctor ordered. The history books largely blame Herbert Hoover for the Great Depression's aftermath, because he didn't react quickly enough, thinking that the markets and economy would correct themselves. Sound familiar? That's Bush ideology in a nutshell. In fact, most of us in the US believe in that. But FDR believed we needed massive gov't spending and restructuring to pull the country out of it, and he was right. Look what happened to Japan. We don't want to lose another decade, like we've already lost this one.

Just thinking out loud. I'm not convinced either way on this one.
