So you don't actually know why your Grandfather or the cows were removed from the Colorado acreage?

You have a very romantic story but, need I point out that, during the Great Depression there were no farm programs which involved shooting cattle and burning the farmer's home.

Something else was going on. It was a period during which many people fabricated stories to maintain their dignity.
