It was said a bit tongue in cheek. Obviously none of those options are desirable, the status quo sucks and the sight of capitalism and wall street greed run amok is appalling. The concept of redistribution of dollars through taxation is the other extreme if offered in isolation for votes and I would hope is not an end in itself. I would like to think in terms of it being a transitory phase (given the current economic situation) en route to a better solution, a grass roots process, lifting all boats - a middle approach. And I'd hope the emerging economies don't retreat from the capitalist free market model on account of this mess - anything taken to its ridiculous extreme is bound to fail spectacularly
