I have constructed a balanced portfolio. It neither grows nor shrinks. It contains the perfect mix of clown longs, cash and DXD. I'm not sure of it's utility, but it fascinates me! The market makes a sawblade, but my magic portfolio stays flat..

What's the point of staying flat? You want your port. to grow.

Now for my latest move.......even in the best of times, I rarely pull off a genius stock move.....and lately, I have been mostly misfiring on all cylinders. However, in the last two days, I made what I consider to be a genius move.......sort of. I have been watching MTL as it gets slaughtered......unmercifully. In the meantime, I knew stocks are likely to rally before the FOMC meeting tomorrow. So yesterday when it dipped to $4.40, I bought a chunk......of course, it then proceeded to go down to $3.77. :-(( It finally closed at $4.10......I tend to go in a day or two too early. This morning MTL tested yesterday's low and starting climbing back up......I bought more at $4.09. The sucker just closed at $6.44.......for a 50% profit in two days. Depending on how things go tomorrow, I will probably take profits before the FOMC fed rate announcement. If only I could do as well with every trade. ;-)

Now explain to me why flat is good.
