A couple of interesting points from "Hardball": The quote that Palin is a "whack job" came from a senior adviser to McCain, which is understood by reporters to be the top 4-5 people in the campaign. The name-calling would not have started unless McCain wanted it to, or he has lost control of the campaign at this point.
