Once again. "Taxes directly are a total negative". In other words the tax considered in isolation is pure negative.

Of course we have to consider the indirect effects (both positive and negative). The most likely place to find positive effects is in the spending that comes from the taxes. But even if all of it was positive (which isn't and will never be the case) the taxes direct effect would still be negative.

Also as for "when they are misspent", well that happens rather often, and as government expands it happens relatively more often compared to what is the case in a smaller government.
