Taxes aren't a total negative. Taking cash and burning it in the fireplace...now that's a total negative.

From the perspective of the person you take the cash from its a total negative, whatever you do with it.

If you give some of it back, or buy something for him with the money, than the return of the cash, or the thing you bought is a positive, but the initial taking is a negative.

Do you see a movement towards living in small communities governed by said communities and off the grid? I don't.

I don't either, nor do I call for or want such a movement.
