Check out the following buisness overview provided by E-Trade: Ancor Communications' Fibre Channel network products helped save the world from alien destruction. Used in the making of the film Independence Day (which had almost 13 trillion bytes of digitized special effects), Fibre Channel data communications products use fiber-optic cable to transfer data at speeds up to 100 times faster than other LANs. Ancor's products include high-bandwidth Fibre Channel switches, interface adapters, routers, and application specific integrated circuits (ASICs). Ancor uses subcontractors to produce its products, which it sells in Asia, Europe, and North America through a direct sales force. Falcon Systems is one of the company's largest customers.
