As I said, she is the sitting Democrat senator til January 2009, whether she runs for re-election or not.

Because she was defeated in the primary, she was running write-in campaign -- similar to what Lieberman did in CT. The person who beat her in the primary will be listed as the Democrat nominee. But if she wins, she'll keep her committee assignments as a Democrat.
