It is not precise -- but if a few months constitutes a long term persistent change in a trend that has been in place for fifty years and survived recession after recession, oil chock after oil shock, several wars and multiple bear markets in stocks and housing, than you might as well say we have deflation in the morning and inflation in the afternoon. The stage is set for more inflation. Only time will tell.
