Today I received, via email, my Voter Protection packet from Obama's legal team in Indiana, where I'll be going on Friday. I'm very impressed by the professionalism and thoroughness of the packet. It is all marked "CONFIDENTIAL." The "Legal Observer Manual" runs 24 pages and it has a 25-page Appendix of forms and checklists. On election day, I have to report for duty at 5:30 AM to witness opening procedures. Per the legend on the packet, this effort isn't being paid for out of Obama's war chest but by "Campaign for Change, a project of the Indiana Democratic Part, www.indems.com, and not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee." I expect that this remarkable on-the-ground organizational effort that I'm seeing in Indiana is being replicated in many other states. If so, the auspices for Obama-Biden should be very favorable.
