Denis,

Thanks for your updates, always greatly appreciated.
I'm wondering about the different scenarios on how everthing might
play out, (i.e. Moneta vends Michaud property to Barrick, Barrick buys
Moneta outright, etc.) What do you see likely happening and what would
have to place before it does happen?

Regards
RonS

October 21, 1997 - Alto Minerals Inc. and Moneta Porcupine Mines Inc. of
Timmins, Ontario announce that they have acquired by staking, a large land
position in the Abitibi greenstone belt east of Timmins Ontario.
The partners, whom each have a 50% interest, have staked 126 claim units
(20 square kilometers) in Barnet and Melba Townships. The property is
prospective for both gold and base metals.
Property geology straddles the contact between the Kinojevis and Blake
River Groups. The Kinojevis is well known for hosting the gold deposits of
the Harker-Holloway camp, and the Blake River for hosting VSM deposits such
as the Noranda base metal camp. As well, an evaluation of geophysical data
indicates the property is dissected by a strong E-W structure indicated by
regional magnetics and by N-S and NW-SE structures on regional geological
maps.
Recent polymetallic discoveries by Cross Lake Minerals Ltd. four townships
west of the property have drawn new attention to this sequence of the
Abitibi greenstone belt.
The partners will conduct an extensive interpretation of available
geophysical data of this under- explored property, and plan a helicopter
geophysical survey.
