Cary, >>Maybe you can describe the "economic miracle" so that I won't miss it when I am driving by!<<

Less than 5% unemployment here vs about 12% in Germany and France TODAY. These two countries are now cutting back on their superior
social safety net programs because they cannot afford them any
more. I have great compassion for those that NEED them, but because
of the nature of humans, there were too many abuses. That caused
stifling taxation of the workers. No country has the answers yet.

Go to Costco in Mountain View and you'll see un-skilled job
openings posted at the door. The high tech industry is desperate
for skilled workers. Look around - you'll see job fairs galore.
And all with (no - because of)a minimum of government guidance.

In Europe country after country is selling government-owned
enterprises because they just cannot run them efficiently,
profitably. All the socialist schemes have had ample time -
many decades - to make their system work. They failed. So why
not go with the system that produces the most for the most,
and then work on the inequities?
