If Israel hits Iran I don't think we'll have any choice but to support them.

I would HOPE that that could be avoided because it could mean chaos throughout the Middle East.

It probably could have been avoided earlier if Bush had responded to Iranian calls for talks in 2003. But Bush played right into the hands of "hardliners" in Iran and helped get Adminijad elected by just ignoring Iranian overtures.

Iran is taking a real economic hit right now with oil prices down and the sanctions still in effect. They've got 30% inflation and their population is getting a little fed up with the hardliners putting their "feud with the Westerners" ahead of the well being of their citizens. They could be RIPE for some talks right now and I hope the next President takes advantage of the opening.

The reason the Russians are helping Iran and Syria is that Bush has been treating the Russians like children over the last 8 years. He's been squeezing them and squeezing them by moving NATO closer and closer. Is it any WONDER that the Russians are now trying to squeeze us by buddying up to Syria, Iran, Cuba, China and Venezuela??????

Whether it's McCain OR Obama, the NEXT guy has to start using something called "diplomacy" because we really don't need three more wars.
