So... are you saying that you favor States slapping windfall profits taxes and resource extraction taxes and general income taxes and whatnot on their corporate citizens... and then just cutting checks to each and every individual who resides within their State's borders to transfer the wealth to them?

(Why would anyone bother to work anymore when they could just sit back and cash the State checks? Oh, that's right, taxes put on corporations would have to be passed along as higher costs to their eventual customers....)

So, you might get fat checks from your State... but bread would cost $20 a loaf. :-)

Well... if a State can do that, why not the federal government? (It already does it with tariffs and such....) Wouldn't that just provide a more level business climate?

(Or perhaps we would be better off just breaking up into 50 separate countries, and fielding our own armies and such. Isn't that what Todd Palin believes might be best for his one state?)
