Look I agree that the Execs - MD and above should get NOTHING, NOTHING. It's disgusting they would even think to pay themselves after a year like this. But don't severely punish those below with goose eggs, especially in this economy. Many will have to be let go, sure, because the business is too big...but those who are "qualified" to stay shouldn't be punished further. There is still business, there were still OPERATING profits. The question is one of short-term solvency, not long-term viability. Many of them are the backbone of the business - much of which still has relevance to our everyday life. It could be the secretary, execution trader or pension fund sales broker. These are the people who tip the taxi cab drivers, waiters, give presents to the door-men, etc. The big guys are the MIS-managers of it all. The firms would function perfectly without them, truthfully.
