Some time ago there were some studies of how much additional debt was needed for each additional dollar of GDP growth.

I believe the numbers were something like $3.00 in the 1960s, $6.00 as late as 1984, and now are up to around $15 to $20.

Similar in some ways to how much energy (or electricity) for each new dollar of GDP. That number has been trending down slowly over time.

Any indication that this debt number has come down ?
