Sarah Palin just got pranked by two comedians from Quebec posing as the French President and his assistant. The long phonecall is going to be played all over the world. In it, Palin clearly does not know the name of the Canadian Prime Minister, who the comedians replaced with a pop singer's name.

The Sarah Palin pick was a desperate political ploy which put the nation at risk. McCain failed miserably. And now the GOP is finished as a cohesive party for a long time to come. As I told my friend who works for Romney, if you want to win in 2008 you have to run against Bush and the whole rightwing economic policies. Romney did not not take that advice of course. But the proof is in and the verdict is final.

The rightwing ideologues may continue to be gangs of raving extremists on the fringes, but they may never again come together to create a viable party. I have been predicting this for years and it is about to happen, in fact it's already happening. And Sarah Palin is just a symptom of it.

Clearly, nothing the rightwing says or does anymore can be trusted. Nothing. They are liars, cheats, scoundrels, polluters, thieves and yes even traitors. They are finished as a serious force in US politics.
