Hey PJ or whoever YOU are, allow me to correct the story.

I don't have access to all of the Business Journals and I'm not joining them to get this info but it looks something like this;

IHI started buying related businesses in 1998 and continued through '99 and 2000. In February of '01 IHI announced it had hired an Investment Banking firm in New York to sell 4 of it's subsidiaries:

Industrial Holdings hires help to sell engineered products group

"Industrial Holdings Inc. has hired a New York City-based investment banking firm to help it sell its engineered products group. The group consists of four wholly owned subsidiaries that manufacture cold-formed fasteners and specialty metal components for original equipment manufacturers.

Up for sale are the business units Orbitform, located in Jackson, Mich., Chicago-based American Rivet; Ideal Products, located in Beacon Falls, Conn., and Houston-based Landreth Products.

Industrial Holdings owns and operates a diversified group of middle-market industrial manufacturing and distribution businesses."

There doesn't seem to be anything cynical in this purchase and sale so I don't know why you even wrote your post except to throw a negative spin on an otherwise positive PR from Americhip.

It appears that there was a name change for Obitform somewhere after the sale by IHI. From what I can find their name during that time was Orbitform Acquisition LP and now it is OrbitForm Group. (happens all the time). This seems to be a very good thing for the company and us.

GO STICK YOUR HEAD BACK IN THE SAND P.J.KNIGHT...

BTW: I couldn't find a website for IHI but I did find a advertisement in a magazine from 1994-- portarchive.com
