Think of MLK's shattered dream -- A black man is finally a major party candidate and his supporters are voting for him because of the color of his skin and not taking into account the content of his character...sorry Rev King.

I would never vote for someone because of his race. I vote the candidate...for his qualities and for his platform.

Having said that, I have seen the looks on the faces on the faces of black kids......7,8,9 years old who turn up at the rallies...all smiles and excited. Who ever heard of a kid going to a political rally and enjoying it? I have heard the story of an 84 year black woman in GA who went to the voting booth and came out, walked across the room and then collapsed into a chair weeping because she never thought in her life time she would ever vote for a black man for president. I watched the video showing an interview with a white guy with tats all over his arms, speaking in poor English, clearly not well educated, who understood completely Obama's major policy's issues and was handing out Obama flyers somewhere in the South.

First I marvel that I live in this great country where such a thing is possible. Secondly, I am proud as hell that electing this man, Barack Obama, can bring so much pride and joy to so many people. Its the icing on the cake.

As for MLK, I have a very strong suspicion that B. Obama has made him very proud.
