John, "Obviously a huge strategic political error" Seemed like a worthwhile risk at the time. The polls were shifting toward Obama and nothing appeared to get American to pay attention to McCain back in August. Atleast Palin shook things up and gave him a shot. On the hindsight he should have announced Palin VP candidacy and Scheduled Convention on Halloween day! Given how Bush operated and where the country is, it is surprising that the race was even close. Give credit to the blind faith Republican put in their leader, regardless of their performance. Bum.
