I agree with you, Tim.

Christian fundamentalism had nothing to do with this election.

With the exception of a handful of issues, John McCain looks like a moderate Democrat.

What's happened is that the left has been pulling the country off center for 8 years. Bush was reviled from the moment he won. He allowed himself to be too bi-partisan with people who were not trustworthy. IMO, most of the areas where Bush went wrong was precisely because he gave into the Dems.

And you can see what that did for him and the party.

By allowing the tilt to the left, the party abandoned its fiscal conservatism.

Because of the palpable hatred of Bush, the Republicans became fearful to stand up for their principles.

So you have McCain pussyfooting around the campaign when he should have confronted the charlatan head on.

And that's where we are.

Religious issues have little to do with it. JMO
