I don't think it's so much that the evidence is weak, but more that it's circumstantial. Among other things, I don't think it's implausible that those on the planes didn't know the planes were going to crash. The technology to take control of a plane away from a pilot is old hat. From there you only need a few disposable patsies to play their part for a few minutes until it's time to go kaboom. Among other things, you really wouldn't want to leave to chance that your intended suicides will actually go through with it, rather than heading for Cuba instead.
