IM guessing this is not news to you MPL Communications Inc (C-MPZ) - News Release MPL's takeover bid by Marpep expires 2008-11-04 18:15 ET - News Release Shares issued 18,875,556 MPZ Close 2008-10-29 C$ 0.07 Mr. Barrie Martland reports 1421636 ALBERTA LTD. - EXPIRY OF OFFER TO ACQUIRE SHARES OF MPL COMMUNICATIONS INC. On Sept. 26, 2008, 1421636 Alberta Ltd. initiated an offer to acquire all of the issued and outstanding common shares in the capital of MPL Communications Inc. not already held by the offeror, its affiliates and associates. An insufficient number of shares required to satisfy a condition of the offer have been tendered. The offer, which expired at 5 p.m. (Toronto time) today, will not be extended and is withdrawn. MPL shareholders who have tendered to the offer will have their shares returned promptly. The offeror is a direct, wholly owned subsidiary of Marpep Publishing Limited, a private investment company.
