Slacker, John posted an article a day or two ago which said that most of the Democratic newcomers will be moderates. And even if they personally are further left, they are in districts which will kick them out if they vote that way. Obama has never given me the impression that he is rash or stupid. My opinion is that one of his primary goals is to end the black-white divide, put race to rest. And governing as an intelligent moderate will be one way to do that. I knew one of his key advisers pretty well back in the late 70s, early 80s, and he is a very bright guy who will help to keep Obama on an even keel, if he needs that kind of help. Democratic "extremists" will not be in charge of this administration. I am 98% sure of that.
