He was very careful not to gloat, not to work the crowd too much and even struck a somber tone. Last night's winner could have easily turned the celebration into a chance to gloat about beating the other party at last. But that's not what this guy is about, from what I can tell. Hence my guarded optimism that Obama could launch a new political era.
