To say it was only democratic attributes that sank the republicans misses the boat and I think calls for more introspection. The deregulation(and lack of proper regulation of the markets) that has occurred on the republican watch has been a significant part of the present economic meltdown.

Obama has said all the right things during the election. I agree it will depend on what his actions are on how he will be judged. If he is truly moving towards the center and governs from there, then that will be a significant part of the battle.

One thing that I have to give Bush credit for is getting things set up for the transition prior to the election. I think this was a positive step on his part. I would hope that would mean that there would be some coordination to make sure that the outgoing admin and the incoming one aren't working at cross purposes.

I thought the pranks that occurred after Clinton left office were, for the most part, in good fun. I wonder how many "O"s will be missing from the white house computers come january ;-)?
