Hi Suma. I share your dismay at the stubborn nastiness of the hard right. Some of them will never change; they're simply going to find something to fear, and then to hate, no matter what.

There is hope for many of them, however. For those who are simply spongebrains who absorb their emotions and views from listening to the chronic haters or the talking heads that feed on negative emotions, reality will, in time, open up a new understanding for them.

So if we can start building a better America and if we can enlist more and more people willing to do the right thing then we'll have the satisfaction of watching the "common wisdoms" of that minority group begin to evaporate.

Sometimes it's a slow process but reality is a powerful river whose waters will always crest the highest dam.

In the meantime, when you hear such nonsense, just smile and remark that the American public doesn't share that fear and that it opted to go a different direction. FINALLY! Ed
