Karen - More and more, as I think about it, I think States should get out of the marriage business altogether. Let States recognize Civil Unions only, for both hetero and homosexual couples. Let these Civil Unions confer all the legal privileges presently attached to marriage. If people want to be married, that should be a matter for churches. Maybe someday we can have a sensible solution like that. Meanwhile, fear and prejudice continue to rule the day. - Allen
