It's impossible to avoid the fact that morality has to enter the discussion of issues like criminal justice - should a society demand justice for the victims of crime or coddle those who commit crime? - the latter attitude is endemic to Democrats. That's the primary reason I switched yrs ago from Dem to Repub -- when I became truly disgusted with the way the Left coddles criminals and completely forgets their victims.

Restrictions on abortion is another crucial issue where the morality of civilized human beings cannot condone barbaric late stage or partial birth. "One nation under God" -- "endowed by our Creator with life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." As Americans do we respect the truth found in the US Constitution or not. "Freedom of religion"...of course does mean freedom FROM religion - as so many Democrats wrongly argue.

Watch the way criminal justice is handled in the ensuing 4 years. Obama has already stated he wants to reduce prison sentences. By the time his term has expired Americans will be outraged at the resurgence of crime and failure to keep violent actors behind bars. It's happened during every Democrat administration. Would be most happy to be proven wrong on that one...won't hold my breath.
