MARIETTA, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 22, 1997--UNICOMP, INC. (NASDAQ:
UCMP) today announced that it has opened its first Year-2000 Conversion Center, also
known as a "code conversion factory" in the Southeastern U.S. Based at UniComp offices in
Marietta, the Conversion Center combines the project management expertise of UK-based
Information Business Systems Ltd. (IBS) with the processing speed and accuracy of the
INTO 2000 tool set in order to rapidly process and repair customer RPG programs and
databases.

"Our INTO 2000/IBS Conversion Center opens a new, cost- effective path to Year-2000
compliance for IBM AS/400 installations," said Stephen A. Hafer, President and CEO of
UniComp, Inc. "There are many AS/400 sites that want to solve their Year-2000 problem
but do not want to interrupt their daily operations or commit resources to purchasing Y2K
products, training personnel and managing a major project. The people at our Year-2000
Conversion Center are specialists in processing RPG programs; the work gets done correctly
the first time at a reasonable cost."

Specific services provided by the UniComp INTO 2000/IBS Conversion Center include:

Conversion Factory Services- for off-site code analysis and
reconstruction

Testing Environment- where clients may run their applications for both unit testing and
acceptance testing

Education Services- regular classes of instruction in the use and
application of the INTO 2000 tool set

Professional Services- qualified professionals to define, administer or execute Year-2000
projects

Product & Connectivity Support- in support of the INTO 2000 tool set

The UniComp INTO 2000/IBS Conversion Center will also be
additional resource for the more than 100 INTO 2000 Certified Service
Providers working with companies throughout the Western Hemisphere.
"We have seen consultants with major projects simply looking for a
place to handle the RPG part of their project; now they have a
high-quality place to go," Hafer concluded.
