I really enjoy Facebook as a way for our extended family to stay in touch with one another. No one can see your account information unless you invite them as a friend to view your page. We share photo's, films and all kinds of thing this way. It also has a function where someone posts you a message and it automatically goes to your cell phone as a text message. I use Vimeo for film uploading, because you can keep them private and then click a "post on Facebook" button and they show up on the Facebook homepage as a seamless film link.
