There are always problems to be solved. The measure will be how the economy is and how many people think the country is moving in the right direction in 2012. I don't see how either of these measures could be worse in 2012 than they are in 2008 since they are already quite bad, but we shall see.

I think Obama is the favorite already for 2012 because of his convincing win on Tuesday (the largest percentage win by a Democrat in generations) and the fact that once the American people get to know him, they'll find out he's not the monster that the rightwing spinsters have tried to portray him as, and he'll be view more favorably. He is not a socialist (the top tax rate during Republican Presidents Eisenhower and Nixon in the 1950s and 1970s was 70%), his past associations will have no bearing on how he governs going forward, U.S. foreign policy will not be radically altered in a manner that alarms Americans, etc.

For now, let's just give Obvama a chance to succeed. We all gave Bush a chance to succeed. It's not our fault if he screwed it up with his go-it-alone militaristic foreign policy and deregulatory domestic policy. His Presidential ratings speak for themself.
