Nothing new or not anticipated from my point of view - to many on SI shut me up when I warned about Russia. The main factor to world stability now is Russia which plays a poker game as they have nothing to back up their treats except the nuclear option. I only wonder who was watching Russia and what the EU intelligence community has done all those years not to mention the CIA and Bush expert on Russia Obviously the let their guard down and now it is hard work - the only factor that works for the West benefit is the low price of crude oil. Further Russia underestimates the military achievements in Iraq and the deep resentment of Russians in CEE and Central Asia Obama must employ the old Reagan tactic in a renewed and smarter version - unfortunate I am not sure if Germany and France will go along - Italy has now a Buffon in power and it seems they never get it right. As to Spain and Greece they are already Russia leaning and engaged in treachery anyway. Russia resurgence will make the world unbearable to live in – if Russia would have been such a great and graceful nation than the former USSR would have never disintegrate, more so Ukraine and Belorussia who have historic relation and heritage common with Russia – The Ruddick Vikings doctrine is at their best under Putin – their signature embodied in Putin If Putin and his gang will continue to be in power for long the world will NOT RECOVER from the present slump - it may be stabilizing that is all
