I am long gold stocks, so I hope that is right. The TLT leap calls looked like a cheap way to hedge my long gold stock position so I did that. I will be much better off if gold and gold stocks do well than if TLT does well. Or maybe we get deflation, dollar soars, Rand plunges, energy falls and my gold stocks do well and TLT pays off? But in any case, the calls looked cheap and I wanted to try and hedge my gold stocks in some fashion. it has worked well so far, but i would be happy to sacrifice those calls to the market Gods in exchange for gold doing well.
