It seems to me that the introduction of culture war to the political disparity did a great disservice to this country. It was all so unnecessary. Ah but it was oh so effective as a mobilizing tool. That's the ugly cynicism behind these "moral" arguments; the Roves and Atwaters of the world were sitting behind the scenes like the Wizard of Oz pulling everyone's strings just to win an election.
