Thank you, L3, for going through the process. I didn't take the time to do so, and as you know reacted more viscerally. I think the problem was that Neeka and I are both strong Mama Bears, and when I talked about my sons's thrill over the election, in which they felt such an involvement, that it hit Neeka in her mama place, when I was just rejoicing over their finally understanding the power of our process, and how voices do matter. Since they had known only BUsh in their political lives, they really had a biased view. And then my mamabear got riled when I felt a criticism in her response... Don't mess with mamabears. The conservative core values of family and personal responsibility shouldn't change- and I believe that these values are no less important to most Democrats. The difference may be as you say in "which of the retained values are appropriately subject to law and which are personal".
