I bet the adults told them to do that.

My son played tackle football as a kid. One year when he was 8 we played an all black team in a black part of town. At that age coaches would be on the field to help the kids. After a couple of plays the kids told us coaches that they we yelling " kill the fukking honkies, smack those MFing crackers, etc" we said ok will tell their coaches, our kids said " but it's their coaches who are yelling that"
