There are many places in Europe I would love to live in, but I am an American, my family and home are here. I love America, but don't kid yourself, the quality of life in Europe is just fine, and yes I am also talking about healthcare. I would rather have the French government decide the level of my healthcare than the American insurance company that's currently bleeding me dry and then probably won't be there when I need them.
Yes, great idea.
In France, the average physician makes the equivalent of $60,000/year. There are 200,000 physicians licensed to practice in France, and the number of medical students is and has been on the decline for years. It simply isn't worth becoming a doctor.
The number of hospital beds has declined as well, currently at 8 per thousand in population, which is the same as the rest of Europe. Nearly 50% of the top 50 drug manufacturers IN THE WORLD are in the United States, and there is a reason for that.
As in Canada, it is a matter of time until the house of cards collapses. |
