Paul, I just finished talking to Arthur Koch. He did say that the target for the phone conference were analysts. After I told him about the need to keep the cyberinvestor informed, he did say that maybe they should have opened it to all. He said that they are working to do a better job in communicating information to investors. They have a PR guy to help in that : Andy Keller of P L Thomas 312-906-8060. Even though Koch would have liked to have had me talk to their PR person, he did spend some time talking to me. It was interesting to hear things from the "bean counter" rather than the scientist. Koch's concerns are to get the financial support to keep the company solvent and grow its value. He is very enthusiastic about PN355, but tempered my excitement when talking about the problems a small company have getting the message out. A Merck can just call a newspaper and have anything it wants published. Small companies need to develop credibility before anyone will listen to them. PRLN, while having exciting prospects and good science, doesn't have the market posture to get the attention that it’s due. Koch confirmed that PRLN doesn't want to open a store front. The path will be partnerships (royalties) with the biggies. The biggies (Merck etc.) will just wait until PRLN demonstrates its technology through clinical trials and not make overtures until results are in. The biggies reason that they have a 1000 scientists of the quality of PRLN and don't need anything else. In my experience that is typical of large companies. Even though the PRLN drugs are less toxic and 1/10 the cost, the press will not announce anything until results are confirmed. Maybe a subject as serious as AIDS requires that. I would think that AIDS patients would demand information however. Time will tell. We know what we heard on the phone conference and our reward is just a matter of time. The sad thing is that the time may be longer than I expected. Comments?
