11/7/08 update
There was dancing in the streets throughout the world this week as people celebrated the election of Barack Obama as the next U.S. president. But the reaction on Wall Street was less enthusiastic, with no Obama stock market fist bump. At Friday's close, the Nasdaq Composite Index was down -37.89% YTD (vs. -35.11% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was down -12.99% YTD (vs. down -12.01% YTD a week ago). And the Contest portfolio median closed down -32.38% YTD (vs. down -29.80% YTD a week ago).
At week's end only 1 of the 33 portfolios was in the black YTD, with 5 of the 33 beating the NBI. Contest leader Gene's portfolio closed the week up 42.1% YTD, with No. 2 ROBERT's portfolio closing down -2.6% YTD.
Have a relaxing post-election weekend folks!
