<no harm is proven then vaccination has to be the default.>

Thanks, for the kudos Thames. I knew some people would disagree with one or more of my opinions. That is diversity of thought.

I do take exception to the excerpt above.

When I was in the UK I was surprised by the lack of adhesives. In 2004, DIY stores didn't carry urethane glues (readily available here). I suspect that they hadn't been shown to be safe by regulatory agencies. In fact, they aren't. I presumed this was because they hadn't met UK standards of being proven safe. Why would we accept lower standards for vaccines (i.e., show proven harm)?

For most people Mercurochrome is harmless because the dye component holds it to the skin proteins. For all those people who chewed their fingernails after application, it probably wasn't that good... so predictable misuse won the day finally and the FDA no longer approves of its use.

Vaccines have been produced from animal sera for a very long time. I think for some illnesses the risk/reward ratio is well established (e.g., polio). For the flu, I don't think so. I reluctantly elected to get the pneumococcus vaccine. Each of these I decide on a case by case basis. I wonder if diabetes and other metabolic illness maybe caused or accelerated by immune challenges and I think too much of a good thing (vaccination) may not be universally good.

Best regards,

cosmicforce
