clinton and bush both wanted to offshore lots of workers... why not entire industries? to be fair, the auto industry has been managed by fools, which is why the japanese have kicked their behind for decades. i think this idea that the captains of industry are somehow smarter than your non executive smart person is going to the wayside. a lot of these guys/gals are just well connected intellectual idiots. not all, for sure, but plenty enough.
