You're right about this Neeka! We went to dinner tonight and were fortunate to have a young, (maybe 25-27ish) waitress here from Romania...came here to be here with her .fiancé.......I had wondered where she was from, and asked her....she spoke English very well, but had an slight accent. I wondered if she were Romanian, as another good friend of ours has the same accent and is from there. She was, and had quite a bit to say about the politics of that country, and that of Russia. Has no love for any type of Socialism or worse.

Loved talking to her...Smart, witty, LOVES America and thinks we are all very lucky and very fortunate. We both told her we think so too...then she told us that many of her friends who live here, don't understand why she likes the US so much nor why she wants to become a citizen some day....

Further conversation just proved a point we have discussed here several times. Our schools don't teach enough American History, so the young folks don't have much of a foundation as to why this country was formed, nor how it was formed....

We wasted no time in giving her Ayn Rand's name and her book "Atlas Shrugged"....

We certainly can see this is true by our own observations, both from the news, and on the streets.

I got her email addy, will get her address, and send her a pocket book of the US Constitution and Declaration of Independence. She sounded thrilled, and I really believe she was.

She will make a very good citizen....NO ONE can tell me that English is too hard to learn....She's been here 2 years, and not only converses well, but understands everything we were saying as well. Told her I don't think I would do has well as she is doing were I in Romania....she said..."Oh you would....You just have to work every day on it...."

Hoping we get to know that young woman better....What an asset she is to this country.
